The game begins in the middle of a woods in which you control a little girl named Nelly who is searching for her missing brother, called Joe. After cutting the rope, Nelly must use the PS Vita's camera in order to control the ropes in such a way as to allow her to cross the towers and get nearer to Joe. The sport is played in a horizontal scrolling manner, like the ones found in Nintendo DS and PSP handheld gaming systems. This mode allows gamers to rotate the camera left to right in order to see the tower and the monster Treadmills as they move across the screen. You can also use the touch screen buttons located on the left side of the display to proceed and see the different levels which are available within the game. Once Nelly reaches the tower, then cut the games she must make her way down the rope and defeat the monster before going into the Tower of Light.
Throughout the match, Nelly should cut the rope in order to protect against the monster Treadmills from breaking it down. The monster's movement, power, and speed are dependent on the type of rope that she cuts. As Nelly grows through the degrees, she can either go up or down. If Nelly goes upward, she needs to make her way through the Tower of Light till she reaches the bottom, while if she moves down she needs to find a way back into the tower to keep her experience.
A unique feature of the game is the rope Nelly utilizes to cut the rope is a manifestation of the emotions and psychological state of mind. If she's happy or unhappy, she'll use another kind of rope and if she is angry, she'll use a different rope altogether.
